What are my rights? Copyright Questions
Copyright is a form of protection provided by the laws of the United States (title 17, U. S. Code) to the authors of “original works of authorship,” including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other intellectual works. This protection is available to both published and unpublished works. Section 106 of the 1976 Copyright Act generally gives the owner of copyright the exclusive right to do and to authorize others to do the following:
-To reproduce the work in copies or phonorecords;
-To prepare derivative works based upon the work;
-To distribute copies or phonorecords of the work to the public by sale or other transfer of ownership, or by rental, lease, or lending;
-To perform the work publicly, in the case of literary, musical, dramatic, and choreographic works, pantomimes, and motion pictures and other audiovisual works;
-To display the work publicly, in the case of literary, musical, dramatic, and choreographic works, pantomimes, and pictorial, graphic, or sculptural works, including the individual images of a motion picture or other audiovisual work; and
-In the case of sound recordings, to perform the work publicly by means of a digital audio transmission.

We are living in exciting times! It’s true. The Internet and technology have combined to give you unprecedented access to digital media, including digital audio. What a privilege.
With privilege comes responsibility. Ultimately it is up to you to do right with the privileges you have been given. In our age of easy accessibility to digital media and user-friendly technology, this means that it is up to you not to steal.
The christianaudio licensing policy is really quite simple. You may make a digital, CD, or mp3 CD copy of your digital audio for your own personal use. You may load your digital audio on as many computers and portable digital players as you own and personally use. But you may not make copies of your digital audio for anyone else, not even your family and friends.
We have strong feelings about thoughtful audio content that affects hearts to think and live right – we love it. And we desire that others will grow to love thoughtful audio too. Perhaps the first step in affirming your appreciation for something you love is to treat it right.
Please do not share illegal copies of the digital content you purchase on christianaudio.com.
