FAQs
We strive to make your experience at christianaudio a pleasant one. However, there are sometimes questions that many of our customers may have. We have assembled a FAQs section to answer many of the questions we get on a repeated basis. If one of your questions is not answered here, please do not hesitate to contact us with your question.
You do not have to buy our Monthly Subscription Credits in order to download any of our free products or our free monthly audiobooks. You are required to create an account to download any product; but creating an account is a completely free process.
At christianaudio you can download most digital audio in three different formats: WMA, mp3, or m4b. WMA audio is optimized for Windows. mp3 audio works well on operating systems other than Windows. m4b audio is the newest format available on christianaudio and is an audiobook format specifically designed for use with Apple’s iTunes and iPod. For more information regarding our download formats visit this Help Center topic.
Yes! We encourage you to burn downloaded audio books for backup and mobility purposes. Remember to choose a format while downloading that will play in a player other than your computer. Be sure that you know what is legal.
You can always listen to your digital audio directly on your computer. Or, if you want, you can burn your digital audio onto an audio CD or MP3CD.
Christianaudio masters our digital audio files so that each file segment you download will fit on one CD. So, for example, if you purchase an audiobook that consists of four digital audio files, you will be able to burn that audiobook onto four audio CDs.
It is very likely that the audio player on your computer can burn audio CDs for you. Of course you will need to have a CD writer installed on your computer and you will need the correct CD media. Look at the Help file of the audio player on your computer to learn more about burning audio CDs. If that does not work, you can email us at customerservice@christianaudio.com and we’ll be glad to help you.
It is also very likely that the audio player on your computer can burn mp3 CDs for you. Of course in order to listen to a mp3 CD you will need to have a portable mp3 player or an mp3 compatible player in your home or car stereo. If you have a home entertainment system, more than likely you can play mp3 CDs on your DVD player
Nope. We’re very pleased with the service we offer and the fact that any computer can download our files without the need of a special program.
Nope once again! All of our CDs and mp3 CDs will play on any computer, with any media playing software. All of our CDs will play in any car stereo system, and all of our mp3 CDs will play in any mp3 compatible car stereo system.
The only exceptions are with downloads. WMA format downloads are designed for personal computers running Microsoft’s Windows; and m4b format downloads are designed for use with Apple’s iTunes and iPod.
Almost all of the audio books on our site are completely compatible with Apple’s iPod by downloading either mp3 or m4b formats. Almost all of the books on our site are at least available in the mp3 format, which is completely compatible with iTunes and the iPod.
There are two main reasons for pricing differences on our site.
1. Some of the products available for purchase are third-party products, which means we have pricing agreements with the publishers.
2. There is a difference in production costs for producing a CD, an mp3 CD, or a download. If we save money, we pass the savings onto you.
We try to keep the main content on our site, published by us, priced competitively and consistent based on book length.
Actually, you can use any media software you’d like! We have many customers that use Microsoft’s Windows Media Player and Apple’s iTunes. No matter what software you decide to use, its always a good decision to make sure you are using the most up-to-date version.
Although broadband internet is a much faster connection than dial-up and your internet service provider may tell you that you have a fast connection, you may not always be able to download at the advertised speeds.
Other issues may be that you are downloading the files in the middle of the day (when our servers receive the most traffic), you may be running too many downloads or internet applications at the same time, or your computer system may not actually be able to reach a higher speed download.
There are a number of items that could cause a slow download. We recommend that you try downloading in the morning or mid-evening as this is when the server has the least traffic and see if that helps.
Yes, we encourage everyone to browse and purchase our more than 500 thoughtful Christian audio products. There is one exception to international orders: we do not ship out of the United States. This means that any product that is downloadable is available to everyone. Unfortunately, we do not make any exceptions on international shipments.
