Much like his retelling of the Arthurian legends, Stephen Lawhead once again, does a masterful job of retelling a classic legend. Lawhead fills your head with the sights and sounds of the British Isle like someone who has walked the paths and discovered the secret haunts of Robin Hood himself! Narrator Adam Verner does a superb job of capturing the language and rhythm of this classic tale.

It's a long time since I've read Stephen Lawhead so I enjoyed getting reacquainted with him and, overall, I enjoyed this audio book. Lawhead gives the quintessentially English folktale a unique twist by making Robin Hood, or Bran ap Brychan, a Welsh prince robbed of his throne by Norman invaders.
