Yousef, whose mother threatened to kill him for having a Bible, now smuggles Bibles the way his family once smuggled drugs.
After Parveen’s employer beats her for attending church, Parveen begins to help other young Christian women who work in Muslim houses.
Abdulmasi kills hundreds of Christians in northern Nigeria with no remorse—until the day he chooses a new life of faith and sacrifices everything for a God of love.

What can we learn from these faith-filled brothers and sisters around the world? How can we pray for them? And what do their remarkable stories teach us about a God whose light shines in a dark world?

I-Am-N reminds us that we are each “N”—as radical Muslims in Iraq identify followers of Jesus the Nazarene. Wherever we live, we have camaraderie with those who are persecuted. So come meet their families. Read their stories. Deepen your faith in a God who gives us the courage to shine in a dark and hurting world.

The wake-up call we need
As a Christian living in America, stories of Christians being violently persecuted always seem to have an other-worldly quality. These things don’t happen now, do they? These stories seem to belong to another time, and another place, with Colosseums or Nazis. And that is why the ministry of The Voice of the Martyrs is so important, and why we who live in the West cannot let our brothers and sisters suffer alone and in silence. I Am N, a collection of true stories of Christians facing persecution Islamic Extremists, is just the wake-up call we need.

This book is all about finding love, grace, courage, and hope in the most unlikely of places. I found myself examining my own level of faith in Christ and commitment to Christ as I heard these stories. I was driven to prayer for the persecuted church, and compelled to worship of God for his incredible faithfulness. The most impacting stories were those of believers who were tempted to retaliate because of the violence against them, and yet they chose instead to respond with grace and love. How often do I retaliate for offenses that are so much smaller than these?

I highly recommend this book for all believers. We need to hear these stories, and we need to stand in solidarity with the persecuted church. Our understanding of the world is often painfully small, and this book is designed to shatter our safe perceptions of faith while propelling us into deeper levels of devotion.

Marco Prentice and Amara Delaney do an outstanding job on the narration of the audiobook version. I recommend experiencing this book in audiobook form because the narration is so well done.

Inspiring and Necessary
I am N goes through several different stories of martyrs throughout the years from Perpetua in Rome, to those dealing with ISIS right now in the Middle East. These stories challenged me and there are several moments that had me saying 'wow' because some of the stuff is so amazing or heavy. I've been following VoM for awhile and generally enjoy all the stuff they put out and love their heart for the persecuted church.
The story is narrated by two different people, which is a little unusual but I liked it. Marco Prentice, did an excellent job with the different accents and making them believable. I've heard him before when I listened to Richard Wurmbrand's 'Tortured for Christ' and he did an excellent job with the Russian and Romanian accents in that book as well. Amara Delaney, was excellent as well because you can feel her heart is really into the story and brings you into it.
I highly recommend this for everyone, it inspired me and shed light onto what some of our brothers and sisters in the rest of the world deal with on a daily basis.

Ready to truly LIVE for Christ?
This book is very inspiring for my faith to be far more real and committed. I want to be white-hot on fire for Jesus Christ, ready not only to die for Him, but to truly live for Him. One statement in the book that stood out to me: When our family members don't share our faith, it is vital that they see Christ working in and through us.
