This classic work unfolds the path of Christian faith and presents the eternal purpose of Godin simple terms. Nee’s discussion and writings on the book of Romans is truly challenging. His classic work takes on many difficult subjects and radically challenges current Christian culture.
- A Must Read for ALL Christians
This book was the beginning of me truly grasping what it means to be a Christian, how to overcome, and how to walk with God. This book is a great starter for anyone who is willing to let the Spirit give revelation. As with all Watchman Nee's books this cannot be grasped with just the mind, it must be Spirit led reading. If you approach it in this way, it will humble you, and change your life forever. I cannot thank the Lord enough for putting this book in my path! PLEASE READ THIS!
- Essential Christianity
I first read the print version of this book when I was a teenager. I sensed that here was a book that touched the real issues of Christian living, but back then I had many emotional troubles that caused me to have trouble concentrating enough to retain its message. I longed to have an audiobook I could listen to over and over to get an overall grip on the book and anchor it in my mind. At the time audiobooks were virtually unheard of unless you were blind. Thank God even seeing people can have them today and here is the recording I longed for. I've listened to it twice, and will listen to it again and again.
The message of Watchman Nee's "The Normal Christian Life" is not just for some Christians who might enjoy it as simply their particular interest. It is the core of what it means to be a Christian. I wish that I had had this when I first believed in Christ. It would have gotten me started on the right track.
I thought the narrator did a very good job. He was clear and understandable, and his voice can be listened to repeatedly without becoming annoying (at least for me). He is doing a narration, not preaching a sermon. The only thing I noticed was that Nee writes in a British style of English and the narrator sounds like an American (I am, too). To hear him speak of "schillings" and "sixpence" with an American accent was a little amusing, but it would be a silly criticism to let that be distracting. The message is so wonderful that concentrating on that will be rewarding forever! Use this audiobook, you won't regret it.
- In Depth Theology
This audio is definitely one of those you have to take slowly and dip into every now and then.
I remember starting the print version of this years and years and ago, and having to stop because there was so much to think about. I’ve had to do the same again with this audio as its too meaty, you really have to think and digest what you’re listening to. Sometimes going back to listen again if you haven’t got it first time round!
It’s definitely value for money as it will last you a long time and its something you can come back to, time and time again.
The narration is fine as its very clear and easy to understand, not a lot of expression in it though.
If you like theology, and a want very in depth look at the book of Romans, you won’t go wrong with this audio.

- This is basically a really in...
This is basically a really in depth look at the book of Romans. Nee takes you through Paul's systematic theology in a way that is easy to understand, but also stays true to the original text. By listening to this book, you will have a better understanding of what it means to actually be a Christian.
I really enjoyed this book. Romans is one of my favorite books of the Bible, so I knew I would be blessed by listening to it. Think of Romans as a really long mission support letter!
The narrator wasn't great in my opinion. I have heard much better.
