AudioFile Magazine says:

David Heath delivers the author’s gripping call to prayer with authenticity. With an effortless-sounding narration he recounts Torrey\'s exploration of topics such as why prayer is important, how to pray in the Spirit, why we need to be constant in prayer, and what hinders God\'s answers to prayer. The author cites scripture, saying \"You have not because you ask not.\" Then he adds the element of faith to prayer, stating why believers must pray without doubt and believe that God will answer. Heath narrates these topics, in sensitive tones, ending with the author’s caution that sin is a hindrance to prayer and that sin must be dealt with through repentance and confession before Christians enter prayer. Heath’s compelling narration provides clarity and persuasiveness to Torrey’s call to Christians. G.D.W. © AudioFile 2009, Portland, Maine

This classic volume on prayer had an unusual impact on me as I listened to it. Not only did it teach solidly on the principles of prayer, it also imparted a passion, a burden, and a spirit of prayer to my inner man that has continued now for several months since I listened to it. The emblazened heart of R.A. Torrey shines through in this work and the narrator does a fine job at communcating not only his words but also his spirit. I highly recommend it!
