Since he was a small boy, Mosab Hassan Yousef has had an inside view of the deadly terrorist group Hamas. The oldest son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, a founding member of Hamas and its most popular leader, young Mosab assisted his father for years in his political activities while being groomed to assume his legacy, politics, status . . . and power. But everything changed when Mosab turned away from terror and violence, and embraced instead the teachings of another famous Middle East leader. In Son of Hamas, Mosab Yousef—now called “Joseph”—reveals new information about the world’s most dangerous terrorist organization and unveils the truth about his own role, his agonizing separation from family and homeland, the dangerous decision to make his newfound faith public, and his belief that the Christian mandate to “love your enemies” is the only way to peace in the Middle East.

This is my first audiobook and I must say that it is very, very good.

The narration is by the man himself. So it's got an Arabic accent which makes it original and authentic. But it is also very clear and audible - no problems with the English there. And since he narrates his own story, he does it with conviction and puts in the drama where it happens with great voice modulation. So you don't get a boring audiobook but an exciting and dramatic one.

Plus, the story is very interesting especially if you are interested in first hand accounts of what really happened in the Arab-Israeli conflicts and the workings of the Israeli secret service. Forget the erroneous and bias news media. Hear it from the man himself who lived it and survived. And then there's the author's own spiritual journey from radical Muslim to Christian and that's the real treat :)

I highly recommend this audiobook !!

This is an excellent book! Mosab reading of his own story was nothing short of a miracle. For someone who has not been trained as a Voice Over specialist he did an outstanding job. I have always been on the side of the Israeli in this struggle simply based on my belief that God wants the Jews to live in the land that God gave them through Moses.

This book has help me understand the Palestinian side of the struggle in great detail, and gave me a new appreciation of the complexity between the political and military sides of the Islamic/Hamas movement without feeling that Mosab was being bias towards his people. He was honest and truthful about both sides Arab and Jew.

He is a very brave man who risked his life for his people, to save lives and bring peace to a troubled land. His conversion to Christianity has come at a great cost to him and his family, and it is sad to hear that the US Govt is now threatening to deport him when he should be given the Nobel Peace prize! He has done much much more than Obama did for the sake of peace!

This reads like a Hollywood blockbuster spy movie - I hope it will be one day! I have already recommended it to a number of my friends.
