anna crandell says: This is a wonderful recording of an enduring classic. Ms. May's voice is very similar to that of Lauren Bacall--in fact, as a movie buff, at first I thought that's who it was! Her reading is masterly and captivating. She is completely at home with the rhythms of Elisabethan English.
For those who enjoyed Ms May's reading of the Pilgrim's Progress, I can recommend her recording of Pride and Prejudice as well.
By far the best recording of Pilgrim's Progress I've ever heard. #

The conversation of the various characters in this allegory is packed with Scripture and it will help any reader assess the genuineness of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The book is wonderfully read by Nadia May who uses a variety of voices to distinguish between the various characters in the story. This is probably one of the top ten books I have ever read.

I was a little apprehensive about the archaic English. I need not have been. I'm finding this classic personally convicting, not least of all because of the fantastic narration by Nadia May. I've not heard her before, but she's versatile and engaging, bringing this old English book to life. I thoroughly recommend this edition. #
