The nature and attributes of God came alive and brought clarity to my reading of the bible. It help to correct errors I had in my thinking about my relationship with God.
Other than God's inspired word the Bible, this book has been the most transformational book I have ever read. I listen to listen along with Andrew Murray's book Humility and I haven't looked a Jesus the same. It brought clarity that I was made to worship God and what the process looked like that he used to draw me to him. The explanation of the corruption that took place in the garden, brought profound depth to what Paul is laying in Romans that we are all sinners. Every day that I lived with out Jesus Christ at the throne of my heart was a day lived in sin. It truly clarified for me why I should love God with all my heart, mind and soul. I was broken after reading this book. It helped bring such greater depth and clarity to my Bible reading and I praise the Lord for a raising up a man like A. W. Tozer to write this book.

Sometimes the best books are the short ones. Knowledge of the Holy is perhaps, one of the best examples of this. What a beautiful, intellectual and heartfelt treatise on the attributes of God! This is currently my favourite book and I have listened to it at least three times in the last year (another advantage of the "short book") and have recently decided to teach a Sunday school class loosely based on this book. As you continue to listen, you may begin to worship our God and wonder how much more majesty and glory He has hidden from our eyes. A "must read".

This relatively short work by the late theologian is a good introduction to evangelical Christian theology. Tozer, who was able to see trends in the evangelical community that are apparent today, describes what the attributes of God are. This is theology in the literal sense. In this soberly written, though by no means dry or dense, work, Tozer advocates a return to a reverent view of God that would inform our lives and our actions. Scott Brick's narration is sober, measured, and deliberate, but never monotonous or devoid of feeling. His performance is an appropriate combination of sermon and lecture. Beautiful book! I was reluctant at first, as the first few chapters read more like something written for theology students than literature majors, but then the eloquence of Tozer's descriptions of the attributes of God took over & I found myself caught up in the majesty of God's character with a new understanding of this God I worship & a desire to enter into His holiness as a response to His love for me! Highly recommended!
