Inspiring Story of How Brokenness Leads to Bold Faith
Jesus promises peace and trouble for his followers. But most of us accept the peace and are confused and angry when adversity comes our way.
All-American soccer star Mo Isom knows the struggle firsthand. While her life seemed like a success, she was battling an eating disorder, the suicide of her father, and a horrific car accident. It wasn't until God wrecked her life that she discovered the glory of renewal through Jesus Christ and that wreckage can be sacred rather than scarring. Readers take the journey from broken to bold with her and learn to surrender their lives to the King who was wrecked on their behalf.
- Restoration in the Wreckage
This author is raw and well spoken with her experience.
She lived a lot of life in a short time and still concisely described its purpose for her heart change to her readers in less than five hours.
This book is a good read for the unbeliever, the new believer and the long-time believer alike.
It is a book for the struggling, the restored and the hopeful.
I was inspired to think about my story of wreckage and renewal.

- Wrecked and Forgiven
Sport star, Mo Isom's book, "Wreck My Life," is a must read for anyone going through a struggle with themselves and their relationship with God. Isom gives her testimony of the vices that she struggled with for years, and the tragedy in her family that completely turned her world around, and the accident. She touched on how we can appear to people to be something that we are not and deep down inside we are crying out for help. All ages can get some nugget of knowledge from Isom.
The audiobook kept my attention and was read by the author which was such a big plus. I could hear her emotion in her voice and it made her journey from self to her relationship blooming with God so much more personal and endearing. The journey was a rollercoaster ride and Isom takes you through it all. I commend her for being so upfront about her personal demons that she cast down back into the lake of fire to never be surfaced again. It would be hard for a lot to be so open.
I recommend this audiobook to anyone who is dealing with any struggle.
I was given this book for my honest and wholehearted review.

- Love and laughter, Pain and tears, Jumping ahead and patiently waiting. It's all here in Mo's life.
Because I love autobiographies I decided to hear Mo Isom's story even though I'm not near her age. Young people need to hear her story and see how God used her to spread the good news about his love and care. Mo talks about the struggles and joy's of school years and home life making you feel her pain yet laugh with her as God gives her grace to follow him.
- Inspiring--for real
What does true brokenness look like? What does it mean to truly surrender our lives to Christ? Soccer star Mo Isom tells her powerful story and gives us a vivid picture of both brokenness and surrender in Wreck My Life.
I should state up front that I am not a huge sports fan. And my understanding is the market for books written by sports stars relating their faith journeys is a crowded one indeed. Be that as it may, Isom tells her particular story with an almost shocking honesty and intensity. She shows she isn’t concerned with maintaining her image as she graphically describes her struggle with an eating disorder, how the suicide of a loved one rocked her world, and how a car wreck revealed her life for the spiritual wreck it was. Her humility is obvious, and she speaks as one who has overcome a crippling insecurity because she knows the One who offers true security. Her boldness isn’t a star athlete’s bravado, but a committed believer’s quiet strength. She knows that in her weakness she is strong, and she lives it.
Isom’s story will speak powerful truth into the life of any young person who will care to listen. She knows firsthand the pressures faced by those who place too much hope in academics, athletics, appearance, achievement, or popularity. She encourages us to learn from her mistakes, and she presents an example that is worth following. To top it off, she writes very well, and the reader feels along with her the joy, anguish, fear, disappointment, anger, and shame of her experiences. She also does a great job narrating the audiobook version.
Isom’s story will inspire you—and I really mean that. Highly recommended.

- Whoa! Amazing and touching book
I am not a sports fan and was not at all familiar with Mo Isom. I usually enjoy autobiographies so I thought I'd give this one a try. I'm so glad I did! I was so touched by her openness and honesty in how God changed her life amidst brokenness. She learned who God is through the "wreckage" of her life. It is beautifully written and will touch your heart.
The book is read by the author which made it all the more moving to me as I listened.
**There are parts of this book that are very intense regarding eating disorders and suicide.

- Beautiful memoir
So relevant. Loved it.
- MUST READ
This book. Where do I begin? I've followed Mo since her big goal at LSU. I read this book within a day and felt so many emotions. I cried. I laughed. I held my breath. And I smiled from ear to ear. This raw journey Mo takes us on shows just how powerful and mighty our merciful God is!! I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a motivational, sports related, religious or even just a good book to read. I've past this book on and it's now making its way to Amsterdam.
Wreck My Life is worth the money not only for a book to read but possibly a way to help show someone about the beauty of our Lord and Savior. ❤️
- Wonderful Testimony
I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook beautifully written and narrated by Mo Isom. I'm not a sports fan so I was quite relieved to discover that this isn't just about a sports career but about a very personal journey with God. The author is a wonderful communicator pouring all her emotions into this audiobook making it a very intimate listen at times. I could identify with lots of her struggles particularly about wanting love and approval from people rather than from God. I definitely recommend this for teenagers, mothers of teenage girls and youth groups as there are so many themes in this that should be discussed in a safe environment.
I received a free copy of the audio from christianaudio.com Reviewer's Program in exchange for an honest review.

- Will your child be broken or bold?
I sincerely believe most every mother of any pre teen, teen, or young adult will pause, as they read Mo's story, and consider how their own daughter or son views so much of the world around them, the world within their home, and most importantly, the world within their own mind and heart with regards to the daily challenges of growing up. If you ever wonder if your child feels broken or bold, this book can start a conversation that may move you into a far more intimate and insightful relationship with your child than you thought possible.
