Customer Reviews
- Excessive detail, but thought-provoking.
-
Good story, but a bit frustrating in its excessive details and slow-paced action. Quite detailed about the depravity of Roman culture at that time so not a "nice" read. Leaves you on a massive cliff hanger, and unfortunately the second book is quite long-winded. Over-all I'm glad I listened and it was very thought-provoking in a good way.

These books took me to 70 AD. I believe the holy spirit helped her write these
Overall - Not for me.

Very disappointing. Way too much gore & left nothing to the reader's imagination. When one writes that the field was strewn with brutalized dead people, one can only imagine - it doesn't need graphic descriptions. I feel the story is hard to get into, as well.
I have read several of her books & have enjoyed them, but was disappointed with this one.Overall - Show ALL Reviews

The best book in the world.
Overall - Good story, but too suggestive to my taste
-
Story in itself is good, but I wouldn't want my teenage daughter to read them, way to suggestive here and there. There are enough of those books in the non-Christian world. I expect Christian novels to be squeaky clean from cover to cover. I would give it 5 stars without the suggestive scenes.
Overall - Awesome! Spiritually and emotionally encouraging!

Just to let you know Ms. Rivers, your writings with much prayer has gotten me to "Read" books again. I can't sit down and get through a book because I hear every sound that distracts me, feel guilty because I am not doing something etc etc.
With your interesting style of writing and Biblical settings, I am now, with the audio books, getting two important and fun things in my life.
I am reminded of things in my life as a Christian that we take so for granted and other people have to really struggle to be safe and keep following Jesus. The second thing is I am getting to have fun and some excitement haha in my old over 60 years.
Thank you for writing what you were researching or feeling for us to enjoy. keep the audio books coming.
