Too often, contrasting styles of evangelical apologetics are discussed solely within the Christian context. In this recording the relative merits of presuppositionalism and evidentialism are evaluated by seeing their application to the argument for the Muslim view of Jesus. (1) The incompatibility of the Christian and Muslim positions concerning Jesus' nature and ministry is set forth. (2) The criteria for deciding between these two views are discussed. (3) The various Muslim attempts to defend the Islamic Jesus are critiqued from an evidentialist and from a presuppositionalist standpoint. (4) Lessons are drawn for meta-apologetics and for practical evangelical witness to Muslim believers.

Zion Lutheran Church in Tomball, Texas invited Dr. Rod Rosenbladt and Craig Parton to speak at the 2009 Apologetics Symposium. Their assignment was straightforward: define the apologetic task and give the bedrock foundation for an easily understood defense of the Christian faith. With the exception of Dr. John Warwick Montgomery, there are no more eminently qualified and experienced men to address this topic than these two men, and they both hit grand slam home runs with these lectures. Several of the attendees at the Symposium told us that these were the best lectures on the subject that they had ever heard. One gentleman told us he had been studying apologetics for twenty years and these (and one by Mr. Parton, in particular) were the clearest, most powerful lectures on the subject that he had ever heard. The six sessions and the follow up Q and A are honestly some of Dr. Rosenbladt's and Mr. Parton's best work. Here are the lecture titles: 1. Why Defend the Faith at All? - Craig Parton 2. Intro to Apologetics - Rod Rosenbladt 3. Historical - Legal Apologetics - Craig Parton 4. What Non Christians Ask - Rod Rosenbladt 5. Islam, Cults and the New Age - Craig Parton 6. A Lutheran Defense of the Biblical Gospel - Rod Rosenbladt 7. Q and A - Rosenbladt and Parton These are great for personal study, or for use in small groups or Sunday School. If you are going to College or have children headed there, the materials in these lectures will help prepare you/them to withstand the coming onslaught of "scholarship" devoted to debunking the Christian faith. Basic objections to the historicity and truthfulness of the Scriptures are devastated by Dr. Rosenbladt and Mr. Parton using a court room evidentiary approach. These materials should be incorporated into the catechesis of our teenagers and adult converts. Download the two free lectures, and we guarantee you will want to own the entire set.

Centuries ago St. Paul stated the issue succinctly: "If Christ was not raised from the dead, then neither our preaching nor your faith has any meaning at all" (I Cor. 15:14, Phillips) Dr. Montgomery presents the case for the historicity of the resurrection, and the reliability of the New Testament accounts of the resurrection. Dr. Grabbe, Dean of the Theology Department at the University of Hull, argues that very little is known or knowable about what may have happened. What actually did happen that first Easter Sunday? And why can we confidently affirm, "He is risen; He is risen indeed."

Are confession and absolution archaic notions which we've outgrown? Are they simply parts of a stodgy, old and outdated church? Or are they still just as necessary and, dare I say it, relevant as they ever were? Maybe even moreso? What are confession and absolution? What do they do and what do they mean? In this lecture by Dr. James Nestingen, he covers these kinds of questions with refreshing clarity. He approaches the subject with a constant focus on Christ, clearly bringing the wisdom of Scripture to bear. If you've ever had questions about confession and absolution and how it is important in our lives today, this is a wonderful lecture which you are sure to enjoy listening to over and over.

Many claim to have been drawn to Christian faith by charismatic prophecy or by the prophetic-eschatological themes in such popular works as the Last Days of the Late, Great Planet Earth. This recording examines in what sense and to what degree Scriptural prophecies have legitimate apologetic value and how they can be used properly in the contemporary defense of the faith.

In 1987, Dr. Montgomery delivered the annual Pascal Lectures at the University of Waterloo. In clear, precise, and easy to understand language, he details why the inter-relationship between human rights and Christian theology is so critical. He explains why the justification for human rights can only be founded on a revelation that transcends human knowledge. He then provides reasons why Christians, on the basis of that revelation, should be keenly interested and active in human rights issues. These lectures are based on Dr. Montgomery's book, Human Rights and Human Dignity. (Canadian Institute for Law, Theology and Public Policy, 1995)
