Unleashing the Passion of Young People in Your Church Is Possible!
Churches are losing both members and vitality as increasing numbers of young people disengage. Based on groundbreaking research with over 250 of the nation's leading congregations, Growing Youngprovides a strategy any church can use to involve and retain teenagers and young adults. It profiles innovative churches that are engaging 15- to 29-year-olds and as a result are growing--spiritually, emotionally, missionally, and numerically. Packed with both research and practical ideas, Growing Youngshows pastors and ministry leaders how to position their churches to engage younger generations in a way that breathes life and energy into the whole church.
- Thoroughly done and no excuses
Many case scenarios as to how a church stays relevant in this ever changing world.
- Insightful, thorough and easy to read. Great resource for church leaders.
The team at Fuller Youth Institute are great at pulling together academic research and presenting it in an easy to read format. I was already a fan of their Sticky Faith stuff and excited to read this book at the first possible opportunity. It's hard to pick just one key insight from this book but the importance for young people of discovering their identity, belonging and purpose in life was a fundamental, entail insight. The concept of keychain leadership is easy to understand and motivational. It was also good to see some myths debunked about what it takes for a church to grow young.
- Every church should have a copy!
Excellent research went into this book. Great conversation starters for any church!
