WINNER of the 2012 "Retailers Choice Awards" for 'Audio'!
Jesus Calling is a devotional filled with uniquely inspired treasures from heaven for every day of the year. After many years of writing in her prayer journal, missionary Sarah Young decided to “listen” to God with pen in hand, writing down whatever she believed He was saying to her. It was awkward at first, but gradually her journaling changed from monologue to dialogue. She knew her writings were not inspired as Scripture is, but journaling helped her grow closer to God. Others were blessed as she shared her writings, until people all over the world were using her messages. They are written from Jesus’ point of view, thus the title Jesus Calling. It is Sarah’s fervent prayer that our Savior may bless readers with His presence and His peace in ever deeper measure.

- How Jesus Calling has helped me.
-
I have been reading Jesus Calling devotion by Sarah Young since 2014 and I can tell you that it has been a blessing for to. She’s not saying what she thinks every one is God inspired there are scriptures to read from each message.
Overall - Uplifting Devotional!!!

I have been a growing Christian for 40+ years and have been using this devotion everyday for about 5 years. Long ago, I loved the God Calling devotions by two English ladies written in the 50’s I believe... but I longed to have something similar to my own journalings with God in today’s language tightly tied to scipture readings as I had done haphazardly so long ago...then I discovered Sarah Youngs writings of her encounters with the Living One!! I disagree with those reviews that have not understood it. God does speak to those who listen to His Word! Jesus Calling has made me trust Him and seek Him and be in the Word so very much more! I now give it away to anyone who is gravely ill or trying to withstand an uphill battle in their lives to encourage and draw them closer to Jesus...Enjoy!!
Overall - So, what do we have the Bible for?
-
Jesus is the only Mediator between God and men. And that mediator speaks to us through His written Word. Sarah Young's failure to grasp this simple Christian concept has lead her to create yet another faddish 'christiany' feel-good book. It's trash for the soul, and only feeds the problem of unfulfilled spiritual longing. It would have done the world a lot more good if Ms. Young had written a book on finding the God who has already spoken, rather than attempting to serve as an God's interpreter. Skip this one and have read through the Gospels if you want to hear Jesus speak to you. His calling is the call to repent and trust in the finished work of Jesus on the Cross; something this book manages to miss completely. Utter rubbish.

- Another Jesus

new updated version of the book released to try and cover up the errors of the 1st version, would recommend looking into the errors before buying.
Overall - It presents a counterfeit Jesus
-
Sarah Young has created a Jesus who will always pick you up when you fall down, always be on your side and sadly always tell you what you want to hear even if it is not what God's word would have you to hear. This is a spiritually manipulating book which should not be used by those who love the real Jesus.
Overall - Excellent Devotional

I listened to this a few years ago and really enjoyed it as it came along at the right time in my spiritual journey. It was just the right amount for each day and really helped me to learn how to trust God rather than having faith in him. I must say that at the time I did find it strange having a woman (Pam Ward) being the voice of Jesus but this didn't put me off.
Overall - Sister to 'My Utmost for His Highest'

Sarah Young knows the truth about who God is and what it means to live the Kingdom life as God intended. Her work is God inspired and relevant. It is timely and applicable to the season of the church today ~ I thank God for Ms Young that she did not throw in the towel. She has encountered God and knows His workings and that is His Real ~
