In the style of Jane Austen, debut author Julie Klassen delivers a compelling Regency Era novel. A vicar’s daughter avoids her neighbors’ scorn by finding refuge in London’s Milkweed Manor, a mysterious bastion of old secrets and new life. Trying to conceal her identity, she encounters a former suitor with secrets of his own. Resolved to protect their loved ones, neither realizes the level of self-sacrifice this will require.
- First Julie Klassen Novel
Julie Klassen's first story. Good, in the style of Dickens or Austen, but some actions seemed out of character.
- Recorded for old fashioned cassette recorder from the pre-history
Rated 2,5 stars. I love Julie Klassen books, but this one was recorded for very old fashioned cassettes (remember back when?), every 30 minutes you hear, "this was cassete (fil in number) site 1 or 2". It takes the flow out of the story.
