Perelandra is a planet of pleasure, an unearthly, misty world of strange desires, sweet smells, and delicious tastes, where beasts are friendly and naked beauty is unashamed, a new Garden of Eden, where the story of the oldest temptation is enacted in an intriguingly new way. Here, in the second part of the trilogy, Dr. Ransom's adventures continue against the backdrop of a religious allegory that, while it may seem quaint in its treatment of women today, nonetheless shows the capability of science to be an evil force tempting a ruler away from the path that has produced a paradisiac kingdom.

More penetrating and jarring on the second read. Will require more re-readings.

This is the best of C. S. Lewis’s fiction. It will take you to a wonderful land while sharing thoughts of life.

- Old truths, through fresh eyes
-
A great follow up to the first book with clear theological overtones and old lessons leaned through fresh eyes in a new space.
It is a great exploration of innocence, evil and the potential destiny of a redeemed humanity.
A small let down is the conflagration of the biblical narrative with the evolutionary one, not offensive just muddled.
Another Lewis masterpiece, worth the read. His wordplay, prose and imagery is brilliant.Overall - A letdown from book 1
-
I had hopes that this would be better. But there's so much description of the landscape and various life forms, as well as what's going on in the mind of the main character.
Overall - Excellent story and narration
-
An incredible book and the narration is excellent
Overall - If you love Lewis and biblical symbolism... you will enjoy this.

Lewis does a marvelous job in Perelandra. I especially love the analogies throughout. The narrator did a very good job also in reading the various characters throughout.
Overall - The Best in the Trilogy
-
My favorite in the trilogy. Worth reading even if it's the only one you read. A great in depth look at the Garden of Eden and the story of the Fall.
Overall - A great story, well presented

This book is my second favorite in Lewis' "Space Trilogy" (after That Hideous Strength) and this is a very good production. Howard does an excellent job bringing the three main characters to life.
Overall - A great story!

Production Quality Excellent. It brings the story of Eve and Satan to life.
Overall - Very well read

The book is of course excellent (at least read it if you haven't already). Geoffrey Howard does an excellent job with the narration and the voices. This audio book was everything we have come to expect from Blackstone Audio's productions.
