The Bible reveals glorious things. And yet we often miss its power because we read it the same way we read any other book. In Reading the Bible Supernaturally, best-selling author John Piper teaches us how to read the Bible in light of its divine author. In doing so, he highlights the Bible's unique ability to reveal God to humanity in a way that informs our minds, transforms our hearts, and ignites our love. With insights into the biblical text drawn from decades of experience studying, preaching, and teaching Scripture, Piper helps us experience the transformative power of God's Word—a power that extends beyond the mere words on the page. Ultimately, Piper shows us that in the seemingly ordinary act of reading the Bible, something supernatural happens: we encounter the living God.

Puts life and joy back into bible study
This book is read well. Piper seeks to puts life and joy back into bible reading and study. His book is a guide of sorts to reading yourself aflame and full. Piper will not accept a mere shallow, dry, dreary, reading of God's word which is filled with the glory of the triune God. This is a great antidote to the shallow interaction that plagues us all.

Drawn out too long
Full discosure: I only made it about halfway through this book. While there were some undoubtedly good points made by the author, it felt like this book should have been written at half this length but was instead drawn out much longer than it needed to be. The same ideas were repeated over and over without breaking much new ground. There just isn't enough material here to justify a book this long.

Seemed like a total Bible study all at once.
I thought this book would give me some special kind of insight, I guess that still remains one's personal journey, (no shortcuts). In this book much scripture was used, and the logical flow of the author was hard to follow. It was all I could do to get through about half of it since the book is quite long 13.7 hours.
