Tamera Alexander, critically acclaimed author of her Library Journal Top 5 Pick Rekindled, paints a vivid portrait of two solitary seekers whose paths converge. When Véronique Girard was five, her father left Paris for America to amass a fortune and send for his family. After 25 long years, a death-bed promise brings Véronique to 1870s Colorado to find her father, said to be mining nearby. But when she asks a local freighter to take her on his mining camp deliveries, surprising events unfold.
- Another great book from Tamera Alexander
It is fun to listen to multiple books by Tamera in one of her series of books because you become acquainted with different people who all live in or around the same town of Timer Ridge. Like real life - everyone has a story.
My wife and I like listening to Audio Books on our radio as we drive long distances on our travels. It keeps us awake. This book has less violence than the other books by Tamera and we like the "banter" between Veronique and Jack. My wife and I tease each other whenever Tamera points out one of those "Men are from Mars!!" and "Women are from Venus" truths. We also like very much the Christian aspects of all her novels and the real-life application of Christian beliefs.
Some people would rate this novel 5 stars but we think a 5 star rating should be reserved for world classics. So in a common sense we are giving this novel a 5 star rating.
