refreshing read
I enjoyed this book since i know the stories of old and enjoy the old testament so much.

It would be a lot easier to follow if the two narrators' stories were read by two readers.

A blessing waiting to be listened to
I wasn't sure about this when I first started listening when I got to work this morning, but I knew I needed to listen to something... uplifting... something Christian. Something to lift my spirit rather than drag me further down into the depression our country's current situation has put many of us in. I had no idea what it was about, but wanted to hear something I hadn't listened to before.

It was an amazing escape, and it reminded me of what God told me a few weeks ago. No matter what happens we are blessed. If my father came out of his fall mostly unscathed, or if he had head trauma again, our family was still blessed. We are blessed not based on our circumstances but because we are loved by our creator. And this book has reinforced that message.

Quite forced and disconnected
Not a great read. I found it very verbose and disconnected from the passages it was supposedly based on. The connection felt quite forced, and the story itself wasn't particularly gripping.

Great story with detailed historical and cultural descriptions.
I don't get to read / listen to much fiction these days, but this was well worth the time! I don't know how accurate the historical, cultural, etc. descriptions are, but Andrews' writing style places you back in Babylonian times and into Jeremiah's prophecies. The story is more of a romance than I would usually look for, but it's more complex and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
