America at the Crossroads
- Product Review (submitted on November 29, 2016):
- The reader was fine. No issues, clear audio. I listened at 1.75 speed though. The book was full of statistics. And what I like about it is, it sounded like it was well-researched and just sharing the facts. The facts though are quite depressing. So for me, the format is: depressing fact, depressing fact, depressing fact, interesting statement about fact's implication, depressing fact, depressing fact, depressing fact, suggestion about what could cause a shift in the trend, depressing fact, depressing fact & repeat. This is all the way to the last chapter where the book finally summarizes conclusions based on these facts and says that people should commit themselves to Christ more fully if they want to positively impact our culture. Overall, it was a lot of "what we're dealing with" -- well-researched and organized, but little "how to respond" and even that, is thrown in at the very end. I liked the info, but I wouldn't want to sit through it again.
