Today, Wayne is the "Real Life Attitude Guy". His true success story includes losing more than 100 pounds, staying married and paying off his financial debt that was ruining his life.
The Real Life Management system, outlined in this book, centers on the 3-Minute Survey. It will help you identify your core attitudes and then identify weaknesses, avoid faulty decisions and stay focused on your self-improvement goals.

- Good for a self-help book

I don't get much out of self-help books especially listening to while driving. The reader is so good, that I thought I would actually like this one. I did like the beginning where Wayne talks about his experiences, which are inspiring, but the how to's were boring to me. I should have quit earlier instead of listening to the end. I gave it a 4, because this is about as good as a self-help book gets, and the reader is the best I have ever heard reading a self-help book.
Overall - engaging and fresh!

I'm skeptical of self-help books in general, and (a so called Christian) one promising to change your life in 3 minutes really raises a big red flag. I was very captivated with this book from the get-go. Unlike what the title may suggest, Wayne isn't proposing to alter your life in 3 minutes. Rather, the book is centered around his "3 Minute Survey" which is basically his personality test. (If you get the audiobook, be sure to get online {and your spouse, if applicable} and take the test when you get to the test part of the book since most of the book is based on knowing these results.) The book unpacks a lot of keen insights into different people and how they are wired and why you might have such a hard time relating to certain people, or struggle so much in a certain area of your life.
There's a lot of profound yet simple nuggets of wisdom packed in this book. Stuff that seems so obvious yet is so overlooked. For example, if you're overweight, what you don't need is a diet, you need a lifestyle change - something long term. Wayne is very insightful, and very easy to understand.
The book focuses on 3 Huge North American Problems: Obesity, Finances, and Relationships. Even if you don't face a huge struggle in any of these areas I'm confident you'll still learn things.
The book is written to be accessible to people of various faiths. He offers a lot of advice that will be helpful to both believers and unbelievers. Lots of wisdom, lots of sharp observations, lots of good advice. As far as I noticed, the Gospel is unfortunately not presented in this book, although the author does write from a Christian perspective.
The narrarator does an awesome job. As another reviewer stated, he seems like he genuinely cares about you, he's not reading this book to sell you something.

The 3-Minute Difference by Wayne E. Nance is a self-help book focusing on the most common areas in which people experience problems – weight management, money management and relationships. He presents why these areas of people’s lives are so poor and why previous attempts to fix them have failed.
Detailed plans are outlined for each of the areas based on a 3 minute survey to determine if the person is a barge, tug boat or type of sail boat. Lastly a routine of setting goals and fulfilling them for 61 days in developed including use of a journal to determine what went well and what failed.
I was a bit cynical about reading this book as I have read a few self-help books and they sound good at the time but when you try to use them you can never get it to work. This book is different though and it is not a quick fix diet or militaristic routine but an adaptable plan for life that can be altered to bring more benefit to the person involved.
The narration was quite good and it sounded a bit like a motivational speaker, which went with the content of the book. I thought it was quite well done but the only problem was not having the 3 minute survey handy while listening to the audio.
This book could be used to put in place good habits that could last the person’s lifetime, so it is well worth the time spent reading and implementing its strategies.

I can honestly say that I found this audio book to be really interesting once I got past the fact that i had no way of taking the 3 minute test that it all hinged upon, (actually I could have gone to the authors website and tried to download it - but as I was listening to it on my mp3 player that would have been a little awkard). However listening to the different attitude types and the way he breaks them down one can still gain an insight into where you might perhaps fit on the scale enough to go along with the book. Even without knowing what attitude you come under the book is interesting because the real life examples used are intelligent, interesting, engaging and real. The situations being dealt with, learning how to get to grips with finance, health and weight are also well presented with good 10 point plans and lists that work because they are well thought out and designed even before we start dealing with how our underlying attitude predisposes us to make mistakes, take shortcuts and basically sabotage ourselves unless we work at it. This is probably because as is explained in the first chapter, the author was originally intrinsically opposed to 'personality' tests and therefore used to teach on these subjects without such a test.
On the whole it's a really good audio book, well spoken with good intonation throughout that make it easy to listen to and take in the detail of what's being put forward.
Well worth considering if you are looking at trying to get to grips with making honest lifestyle changes, regardless of your personality or circumstances.

Overall - change, not plan to change.

What is the three minute difference? The three minute difference is actually the difference that occurs as a result of the popular 3-Minute Survey, which indicates to participates their core attitudes, weaknesses, and faulty decisions. By knowing this information, the book helps readers take the next step and stay focused on self-improvement goals. It’s not about changing the core of the person, but rather realizing the core of the person, to help alter health, money, and relationships, for the better.
Heath’s narration is at a medium pace and the inflection is appropriate for this text. Feeling much like a traditional narration, this audio effort is more like a podcast lecture experience than a performance. Charged, Heath’s effort is a fair match for the content. That said, a cumulative score would be three out of five stars.
Those looking to actualize, here’s a good resource, just as much as the other personality profiles in existence.Overall - Accurate & Possible

I really enjoyed this audio, as it must be one of the best self-help/motivational books I've every come across. What I particularly liked about it is that it is very do-able. The survey is like a personality test that helps you to see what your attitude to life is, and this helps you to work out how to approach the main lifestyle issues in you life.
The author obviously knows what he is writing about as it all makes so much sense, as it is very easy to understand and to put into action. He is very encouraging and really wants you the listener to get to your goals. He does this by making you understand that quick fixes don't work, but long-term lifestyle changes that work with your attitude do.
I also really liked the narrator on this audio as he has the right voice and sincerity for it. He doesn't sound like he is just trying to sell you something, but that he really cares about you and the changes you want to make to your life. If you are looking for an audio to inspire and encourage you to make a major lifestyle change, I definitely recommend this one, you won't be disappointed.
