When Jesus was asked to sum up everything into one command, he said to love God with everything we have and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Most of us have turned this simple idea of loving our neighbors into a nice saying, putting it on bumper stickers and refrigerator magnets and then going on with our lives without actually putting it into practice. What would happen if every follower of Jesus took the Great Commandment literally? Is it possible that the solution to our society’s biggest issues has been right under our noses for the past two thousand years?

Helped Me to Meet My Neighbors
This book actually helped me to start looking at my neighborhood in a new way. Even the other day I started building a snowman and got 5 of my neighbors involved in the process. This book was key in helping me be brave enough to do this, which means it impacted my actions more than a lot of books do.

It's a great book that's well worth the read. I gave it 3 stars, however, because there's a good portion of the book that seems a bit too obvious and dull. It felt like I had to get through half the book first to get to the real meat of it.

It's the stories that make this book great, as well as its focus on genuinely making friends with your neighbors and not turning them into projects.
