Inspiring classic
I had heard of Corrie Ten Boom in passing in my Christian circles but had never actually read her story. After now listening to her story, I can easily understand why it is so popular. The storytelling is excellent. At times it is a pleasant and quaint description of life in Holland, at other times dark and suspenseful as evil descends. There is humor, sadness, love, loneliness, fear, and hope. Throughout it all, God's hand is evident. And as the darkness gets darker, God's supernatural empowerment that He grants to his children comes more and more to the forefront. I finished this book with much to think about and encouraged to humbly rely on God and seek to bring him glory in every circumstance I find myself in.

Without a doubt, one of the best books to which I will ever listen
A master storyteller, Corrie Ten Boom consistently causes the mundane to seem absolutely fascinating. Although she deals with some incredibly dark material, the author (assisted by an excellent narrator) handles it with a lightness of touch that leaves the listener inspired rather than dejected. On reaching the end I was so sorry to no longer have the joyous company of the author and her family

Probably my favorite
I have read this book multiple times, and I never tire of its message of forgiveness and love. Probably in my top five non-fiction book list. A great read.
