Outstanding
I wasn't expecting a whole lot from this book, but when I started listening to it, I was struck by his sacrifice, relationship with God, and his preaching method.

Interest level: 4. More it it than an everyday preacher story.

Spiritual content: 5. Excellent, especially if you preach or are preparing yourself to be ready to preach.

Content: Some good story information, but primary value for me was in the methodology and preparation for teaching men.

Narration: 5. Well done, as are all the long line of Godly men books.

Much more than a biography
Just the 1st chapter covers Lloyd-Jones' life. Then it goes on to cover in a very weighty way, what Martyn taught was a Preacher's and Expositor's job. I was particularly impressed that Lloyd-Jones said that you must always start with the text. Then bring out what the text says. Do not start with a message.
